Flight For All

Funded by the Department for Transport and the Civil Aviation Authority, Flight for All is a set of free resources and workshops aimed to introduce employment roles in aviation to young people in the North West.

From the 8 – 11 July, Big Ideas will host five digital workshops for secondary schools and one event for specialist SEND schools. Each 50 minute workshop will include a range of activities focusing on developing key employability skills. Complete tasks under pressure like an Aviation Fire Fighter, practice dealing with tricky customers as a Security Officer and develop planning and prioritisation skills like an Airport Manager.

There’s also resources that you can sign up to receive and can access at anytime. These include short films co-produced with young people in the North West which go behind the scenes in the sector and have a range of activities for classes to take part in. Find out more and sign up here https://www.big-ideas.org/flight-for-all/.

Toddler Tales

We’re following up our popular Read To Bump and Books with Babies training sessions with a new CPD offer entitled Toddler Tales.  This two-hour research informed training session is fully funded by Merseyside Violence Reduction Partnership for anyone working with families in Merseyside authorities.
This session focuses on playing with language, developing opportunities for talk, using books as stimulus for talk and how to become more confident with oral storytelling. We will also think about simple ways to encourage families to read and talk more with their toddlers at home!
This training is suitable for anyone working with toddlers and their parents/carers: this could include nurseries, children’s centres, libraries, Early Help and pre-nursery/2 year old provision in schools.
You can choose from either 2nd July at 9.30-11.30 or 8th July at 1-3. Find out more and book your space at: https://www.liverpoollearningpartnership.com/events/category/early-reading/
