Liverpool Learning Partnership has worked with author Sophie Melia to create a video for schools for Refugee Week.
This video is aimed at primary school and SEND settings and is suitable for whole school, key stage or year group assemblies. It could also be used by individual classes as part of reflection time.
In the video, Sophie reads her book ‘What If?: The Story of Little Asad’ which explains in an age-appropriate way that we can never fully know what other people are going through and the importance of kindness.
Following the story there is optional content where Sophie and Jenny talk about the Simple Acts suggested by Refugee Week that everyone can do to build connections and empathy in our communities.
In order to access this video, you will need to complete a simple registration form which asks approximately how many children you will be watching this video with. If the video doesn’t show after completing the form, please try refreshing the browser.
Many thanks to the Our Liverpool grants programme for making this video assembly possible.
