We have worked with School Improvement Liverpool, Liverpool Primary Headteachers Association and Liverpool Association of Secondary Headteachers to develop an online transition form for schools to complete for Y6 pupils in the city moving to secondary school. Head teachers from primary and secondary schools have really appreciated this support and the reduction in workload as a result.

There is also a transition form for pupils moving from Infant to Junior school and transition documents and forms for those moving from EYFS settings into Reception. In time, we plan to move all of these forms online for ease of use by schools and early years settings.

Transition Summer Schools

Liverpool Learning Partnership supports secondary schools holding transition Summer Schools. In 2022 schools were supported with an online bank of transition resources, online and physical support sessions from MHSTs, reading for pleasure book boxes and an online support bank for reading for pleasure. Feedback from these summer schools indicates that pupils who attend settle into their new school more easily and quickly. Their attendance in year 7 also improves.
