WSA Networks
Our Spring WSA Networks will take place in March and will be using them to support the Liverpool City Council ACE project. We invite schools to bring along best practice examples, challenges and questions around this topic area. If you have any specific resources that you think would benefit other schools, please bring them along.
All networks this term will be online (our summer ones will be in person). Primary schools can access the one that is most convenient for them.
The dates/times and booking links are as follows:
Primary North/Central

LLP Reading Training
Jenny Holder, the Reading Coordinator at LLP will be holding training sessions on the importance of diversity and inclusion in the literature and media used in schools.
Diversity and Inclusion (primary): Diversity and Inclusion in Children’s Literature – Primary – Liverpool Learning Partnership Tues 5 March 1.30-3 online.
Diversity and Inclusion (secondary): Jenny is recording this training for secondary schools so that colleagues will be able to access it at a time convenient for them. Links will be sent out soon. Please email jenny@liverpoollearningpartnership.com for further information.
These sessions are FREE for LLP member schools to access. Non-LLP schools and MATs should email for details of costs.
There is also a video training session on comics which can be booked via Comics and Reading for Pleasure: VIDEO TRAINING – Liverpool Learning Partnership and watched in your own time.
Gymnastic British Championships- Free Tickets and Travel
Come and see the best of British gymnastics in action!
With less than 6 months to the Paris Olympics, come and be inspired by some of the best young gymnasts in the country. This is an amazing opportunity for children to be motivated not just by the fantastic gymnastics that they’ll see on the day, but by those gymnasts some of whom are going to be the superstars of the future. How great to see them perform now at the start of their journey!
Come and be amazed at the grace of gymnasts on the floor and beam, and wowed by the power of vault, pommel and bars. With everything at stake and titles on the line, make sure you’re in the arena to see the very best gymnasts LIVE, in Liverpool, at the Gymnastics British Championships 2024.
British Gymnastics will host the annual Gymnastics British Championships at the M&S Bank Arena between 14 and 17 March 2024 and are delighted as part of the ongoing legacy of the 2022 World Gymnastics Championships to offer all Merseyside schools the chance to attend the championships for free on Thursday 14 or Friday 15 March. The ticket offer includes teachers/helpers.
In addition, partners Merseyrail, Stagecoach and Arriva are delighted to support your attendance at the event with the offer of free travel for all school groups within Merseyside attending the event on either Thursday 14 or Friday 15 March.

Friday 15 March 2024 – 2pm – 9:30pm – Women’s Junior All Around, Men’s Under 14 All Around
How To Get Involved
Teachers and schools interested in accepting free tickets (and travel if required) should contact Ticket Quarter on groups@ticketquarter.co.uk and provide the following information:

Date of attendance (either Thursday 14 or Friday 15 March)
Number of Tickets required
Transport Support required (yes/no)
Number of Transport Tickets required
Your preferred method of travel (train / bus)
Anticipated departure point and time for travel to Liverpool
Anticipated departure point and time for return travel from Liverpool
This information will be shared with the transport providers who will provide you with a letter of confirmation for free travel that should be shown at the station / to the bus driver and so they can make their employees aware. Please be aware that these are public services and that seat availability at peak times may be limited and cannot be guaranteed and your party may need to await the following train or bus in the event they cannot all be accommodated.
Applications for tickets and travel must be made by end of play Thursday 7th March.
