Training Overview
This session will help delegates to support expectant mothers and families to ‘read to their bump’. It provides an overview of the science behind learning in utero and the benefits for families of starting reading to their child as early as possible.
This training is available to those working with families in Merseyside authorities. It is funded by Merseyside Violence Reduction Partnership.
What Does It Cover?
- The current research regarding brain development and the capacity for learning in unborn children
- The current research regarding early communication and reading with unborn children and very young babies
- The benefits of reading for parents, children and the whole family
- Ways to support parents (including those for whom English is an Additional Language or those with low levels of literacy) with sharing books and reading aloud
Who Should Attend?
