Liverpool Learning Partnership would like to invite school staff to attend a CPD session focusing on using diverse literature in schools to help children and young people build empathy. This session will focus on how we can use books to help children and teenagers to build empathy and learn about the lives of others, particularly in terms of marginalised communities and those seeking sanctuary. This session is suitable for colleagues in both primary and secondary and will be held on Zoom.
This session will be led by Jenny Holder, the Reading Coordinator and Communications Manager at Liverpool Learning Partnership. Jenny is an avid and eclectic reader with a particular interest in children’s and YA literature. She has postgraduate diplomas in both Children’s Literature and Strategic Literacy Leadership and won the 2021 Community Reading Champion prize at the Farshore Reading For Pleasure Teachers Awards.
Please note that this session is exclusive to LLP member schools.
