All Schools: Opportunities

Term 1 Networks

Our termly WSA networks will take place on the 16th (Secondary) and 17th (Primary) of October. These offer a valuable opportunity to meet with other Mental Health Leads, share best practice, meet with representatives from our Schools’ Teams and receive service updates. The next network will focus on setting up internal school triage systems and termly Schools’ Team mental health meetings. We will also be feeding back findings from our ‘Day in the Life’ project. Our primary networks will be in-person and our secondary online. There will be a lunchtime online catch-up for those who can’t attend the primary sessions in person. Please book using the following links:

16th October, 15:30, Secondary schools

17th October, 09:00, Primary South/Central @ Broadgreen Primary School

17th October, 14:30, Primary North/Central @ Smithdown Primary School

17th October, 12:00-13:00, Primary Online Lunchtime Catch-up

Parent/Carer YPAS Drop-in

Just to remind you that our next Parents & Carers Chat ‘n’ Chill Drop-in will be on Wednesday, the 23rd of October. 10-12pm at YPAS Central. 36, Bolton St. L3 5LX. The theme for the October group is Managing fear/uncomfortable emotions.

The 10th of October will be World Mental Health Day and this year’s theme is Mental Health at the workplace, so we thought it would be nice if we could have a chat about where we work and what we do to promote mental health and wellbeing in our workplaces, or what can be done to improve our mental health and wellbeing when we are working.

Parents and carers can bring board/card games if they would like to! 🙂 If you are working with a parent/carer who may benefit from the group, please, share this information with them.

Launch of 13th dot-art Schools Programme

Edge Hill University is supporting the launch of the 13th annual dot-art Schools programme, an initiative that encourages artistic talent among schoolchildren across the Liverpool City Region.

The programme invites Year 5 and Year 9 pupils to participate in an online art competition, with the winning pieces displayed at Liverpool’s prestigious Walker Art Gallery.

Schools interested in participating in the 2025 programme can register online via the dot-art Schools website until Christmas. For further information, visit schools.dot-art.com or contact Carolyn Murray at carolyn.murray@dot-art.com.

Inclusion Quality Mark Celebration

Inclusion Quality Mark is thrilled to be hosting a celebration event at Goodison Park on 9th October. Thanks to funding from the LCC, the impactful IQM inclusion initiative has been rolled out across primary schools in the city. They will join with us to celebrate their achievements with a plaque presentation ceremony in the morning. In the afternoon, we will launch the secondary school initiative, also generously funded by LCC, that will enable secondary schools in the city to become involved in the IQM process. IQM was founded 20 years ago, with the intention of bringing inclusion to the forefront of educational practice. Since then, we now assess schools around the world and have spread the inclusive practices of educators far and wide. We are delighted to see how much the award has impacted schools in the Liverpool area, and look forward to discovering more inspiring, inclusive educators with the launch of the secondary schools’ programme.
