Coram Beanstalk delivers weekly one-to-one sessions for children in primary schools across the country, led by trained reading helpers. Benefits stretch beyond reading with improved outcomes in school engagement, wellbeing and communication as well as reading attainment and engagement.
To celebrate the launch of a new short film telling the story of a child finding their way into the joy of books, the charity are offering new primary schools a 25% discount if they become a Coram Beanstalk school during the autumn term – costing less than £3 per session. Fill in the enquiry form on the ‘schools’ page of the website to find out more, and quote ‘LLP’ to benefit from the discounted rate. Find the film and schools link here.
For secondary schools they offer a peer-mentoring training programme for pupils from Y9 and above to support their younger peers and gain skills to add to their CV, as well as the volunteering element for pupils seeking DofE awards.
