Thanks!

Thanks so much to everyone who attended the Liverpool Children’s Festival of Reading. The team at LLP and the authors all really appreciated your engagement in the sessions. We’ve loved reading your comments and seeing your examples of work. You can see a round up of some of the social media posts on our festival wakelet.

The Liverpool Children’s Festival of Reading has become a popular annual event and we’d love to be able to ensure that this continues for future years. To make this happen, we need to apply for funding that will allow us to continue to book authors and supply books to schools. It would be really helpful if staff could fill in this short survey to help us assess the impact of the festival on their pupils. This survey will also help us to improve the festival for the future and to ensure technical access to the sessions is as easy as possible. Feedback Link

What’s coming next? Can you help us bring a book/reading/writing themed assembly video to Liverpool schools?

It’s been wonderful to bring schools across Liverpool together digitally to meet authors and enjoy stories and poems. We’re now working on a new idea to help pupils share their book recommendations and love of reading/writing to their peers in other schools. We will be developing a half-termly short (5 minutes for KS1, 10 minutes for KS2/3) assembly/TV show that will feature short clips from pupils from Liverpool schools sharing book recommendations, showing us around their school libraries/reading areas, reading some of their own poetry (or other short form writing) and sharing artwork inspired by books. We’d also love other ideas from the children about what they’d like to see in the video.

We’d like to launch the first video for World Book Day (7th March).  We’ve put together a short survey where you can let us know what your pupils say they’d like to see in a video of this type. There is also space in this survey to add your details if you’d like to know more about how your pupils could become involved in this. Survey Link
