The session will take place over Zoom.

What Does It Cover?

Here’s what we’ll cover:

  • Explore the latest research on brain development and learning in toddlers
  • Discuss the critical role of early communication and reading in toddlerhood, highlighting how professionals across different settings can support language development and literacy skills
  • Identifying the benefits of establishing a reading-friendly environment at home and in settings
  • Learn practical strategies for setting up inviting reading spaces, selecting age-appropriate books, and incorporating storytelling activities to foster a love for reading
  • Explore ways to support parents, caregivers, childminders, and other family members in engaging toddlers with books and storytelling
  • Provide guidance on how professionals can adapt their approach to meet the needs of diverse families, including those with low literacy levels or from multicultural backgrounds

By addressing these key areas, professionals from various backgrounds will gain valuable insights and practical tools to enhance early literacy experiences for toddlers across different settings and home environments.
