This is a Liverpool Children’s Festival of Reading session with Natalie Denny for LKS2 classes, based on her book ‘Keisha Jones Takes On The World.’

 About Natalie Denny: Natalie Denny is the award-winning force behind Skywriters, a creative education social enterprise. Her roles include author, activist, tutor and EDI consultant for the Anthony Walker Foundation. Natalie was awarded the Merseyside Women of the Year Social Impact accolade in July 2022.

 About Keisha Jones Takes On The World: Brimming with ideas and passion, Keisha’s determined to stamp down injustices and stand up for what she believes… When Grandpa Joe tells Keisha about Great Aunt Bee, who was a lawyer and an activist, Keisha is determined to follow in her footsteps. Forming the Bee Squad, she enlists her friends KD and Paisley to help put an end to inequality. Soon they have their first cause.

About the session: This session will be live-streamed through the Liverpool Learning Partnership website. The event will also be available to watch for 3 working days after the event on the Liverpool Learning Partnership website. Please purchase a ticket even if you intend to watch afterwards as this will ensure you get the links to do so.

Booking the session: Please book one ticket per school. We’ll send a link that you can then share with the colleagues so they can connect to the session. For our records you will be asked how many children will be accessing the session. We understand that numbers may change before the day so please estimate or calculate using the information you have at the moment.

Resources: Resources to accompany this session will be added to the festival padlet and the Liverpool Learning Partnership website where they can be downloaded. Schools who sign up early for LCFR events will receive some copies of texts for their reading areas/libraries.
