Resilient Ralph

Meet Ralph.
As you can see, he’s a pretty resilient elephant that can bounce back from set backs he faces and find a new way to deal with his problems.  He wasn’t always that way, though.  He needed help from the Resili-ANTS: Learning Leo, Coping Cody, Core Self Courtney, Basics Bob and Belonging Billy and Bella.

Merseyside Youth Association Raise Team and Liverpool Learning Partnership are inviting schools to enter a short story competition based upon the concept of resilience.  Pupils need to write a story which explains how the ResiliANTS helped Ralph to develop his own sense of resilience.

Merseyside Youth Association Raise Team and Liverpool Learning Partnership are inviting schools to enter a short story competition based upon the concept of resilience.  Pupils need to write a story which explains how the ResiliANTS helped Ralph to develop his own sense of resilience.

The judges will be looking for:

  • a clear problem for Ralph to overcome
  • clear skills that the ResiliANT gave Ralph to help him to solve the problem
  • a positive message about taking about feelings/mental health
  • creativity

Five winning stories will be chosen to be published in a ‘Resilient Ralph’ book, including professional illustrations.

Please choose up to two stories from your class to enter into the competition.  We are sorry that we can’t accept more than two entries per class.

You can enter the competition by emailing digital copies of the stories to sarahh@mya.org.uk or by sending them by post to FAO Sarah Harper, Merseyside Youth Association, 65-67 Hanover Street, L1 3DY.
