SUMMARY:LCFR: Chris Naylor-Ballesteros: KS1
DESCRIPTION:Liverpool Learning Partnership invites KS1 classes to join us for a Liverpool Children’s Festival of Reading online session with Chris Naylor-Ballesteros. This session focuses on Chris’s book The Suitcase\, exploring themes of sanctuary\, refuge and empathy. The session will include a reading from Chris and a draw-along activity. \nAbout Chris: Chris is a children’s book author and illustrator. His titles include the Kate Greenaway shortlisted The Suitcase and the popular Frank & Bert series amongst others. His work has been translated into over twenty languages. He grew up and lived in Bradford in the north of England\, studying at Bradford Art College before moving to France many years ago. \nAbout The Suitcase: When a strange-looking animal arrives pulling a big suitcase\, the other animals are curious. What on earth could be inside that suitcase? A teacup? Maybe. A table and chair? Perhaps. A whole home and hillside with trees? This stranger must be fibbing! But when the animals break into the suitcase and discover a very special photograph\, they begin to understand what the strange creature has been through\, and together they create a very special welcome present . . . \nAbout accessing the session: This session will be live-streamed through the Liverpool Learning Partnership website. You will be sent the link ahead of the event \nBooking the session: You only need to choose one ticket per booking. Nearer to the time\, we will send a link that you can then share with colleagues in your school in other classes so they can connect to the session. For our records you will be asked how many children will be accessing the session. We understand that numbers may change before the day so please estimate or calculate using the information you have at the moment. \nAccess needs: If you have any accessibility needs (e.g a subtitled feed)\, please contact us and we will do our best to accommodate these: admin@liverpoollearningpartnership.com. \nThis session is available FREE to LLP member schools. If you are a non-member school\, you can access this event for £30+VAT. You can find out more about pay as you go access to our events by emailing admin@liverpoollearningpartnership.com \nIf you’re not sure if your school is a member or not\, please get in touch with us at admin@liverpoollearningpartnership.com
