Liverpool Children’s Festival of Reading is a celebration of books for children and young people throughout the city of Liverpool.  All members of Liverpool Learning Partnership are able to book onto free author/poet/illustrator sessions and to access a set of free books for their libraries and a pack of activity/discussion resources.

We’ve organised a wonderful set of events including picture book based sessions for KS1 with Atinuke, a chance to learn to illustrate with Shoo Rayner (KS2), football-themed non-fiction with Matt Oldfield (KS2), poetry and rap with Karl Nova (KS2/3) and a talk for KS4/5 pupils on representation of disfigurement, disability and LGBTQ+ topics in fairy tales throughout history from Jen Campbell.

Currently, over 100 schools have booked onto events meaning that over 4000 pupils will be attending author sessions across the city.  However, if you haven’t booked yet there is still space at some of the events.  Visit the festival website for details of how you can book tickets for a group of pupils.
