On 7th July 2017 Liverpool Learning Partnership will be holding its second annual Maths Party Day in schools and children’s centres across the city. The purpose of the Party Day is to celebrate all facets of Maths and its relevance to our lives. Children and young people will take place in Maths workshops, investigations and special lessons in their schools and will celebrate with maths-themed parties. EYFS pupils will be provided with physical Maths Party Bags whilst all pupils from KS1-4 will have access to virtual party bag materials featuring links and ideas. Teachers will also be provided with ideas for cross-curricular maths activities, lessons, puzzles and investigations.
Last year’s event was a success and trended on Twitter across the region. This year we hope to repeat and perhaps even build on this success. Local businesses have come on board with the Party Day and on 7th July there will be events in Liverpool locations including Liverpool One, Ziferblat St Paul’s Square, Wigwam, Sugar and Dice and The Brink. Cultural organisations have also organised offers for schools and will have maths trail activities available on the day.
