National Poetry Day is an annual celebration that inspires people throughout the UK to enjoy, discover and share poems. Everyone is invited to join in, whether by organising events, displays, competitions or by simply posting favourite lines of poetry on social media using #nationalpoetryday.
In Liverpool, LLP are encouraging schools across the city to take time to share poetry related to the idea of change. We have created a package of resources (including an assembly) for Primary and Secondary schools to use in the week of National Poetry Day, in addition to booklists (Primary Poetry Booklist / Secondary Poetry Booklist) and a web bank of useful poetry related ideas/activities for all year round.

Our friends from The Reader have also curated a poetry pack that you may like to share with staff members, parents/carers or some of our pupils. We also heartily recommend the available education resources on the National Poetry Day website.
